Design & AnalysisDevelop and optimize transmission line routes using topographic, LiDAR, or GIS data in PLS-CADD.Perform mechanical loading and structural analysis per relevant standards (ASCE, IEC 60826, NESC).Design tower spotting, sag-tension, and insulator string configurations.Evaluate conductor, OPGW, and earth wire selection based on current rating, tension, and clearance criteria.Design and analyze steel lattice towers and poles using PLS-Tower and PLS-Pole.Conduct foundation load calculations and interface with civil team for tower footing design.Deliverables PreparationGenerate detailed engineering deliverables including route alignment drawings, plan & profile drawings, tower schedules, stringing charts, and BOMs.Coordinate with survey, civil, and electrical teams for data integration and validation.Perform clearance and violation checks (to ground, buildings, roads, railways, etc.) within PLS-CADD.Support preparation of tender documents, technical specifications, and design basis reports.Coordination & QualityInterface with clients, contractors, and survey agencies for route validation and data collection.Ensure design compliance with utility and project specifications.Review vendor drawings and technical submittals related to towers, conductors, insulators, and fittings.Support site construction teams with design clarifications, modification requests, and as-built drawings.Software & ToolsProficient in PLS-CADD, PLS-Tower, PLS-Pole, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and MS Office.Knowledge of GIS tools (ArcGIS / QGIS) and survey data processing (CSV / XYZ point files, DEM, LiDAR) preferred.Typical DeliverablesCategoryDeliverable Name / DescriptionRoute EngineeringTransmission Line Route Alignment (AutoCAD / PLS-CADD)Plan and Profile DrawingsRight-of-Way (ROW) and Crossing Layouts

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Civil / Mechanical Engineering.
- Certified PLS-CADD user or proven project experience (minimum 2 completed OHL projects).
- Familiarity with Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC), PDO, or OQGN standards preferred.
- Good communication and technical report writing skills.
