We are seeking a strategic and commercially-minded Event Manager to develop and execute a comprehensive events program that include sport, cultural, and other types of events according to international standards and meeting HSE and local regulatory requirements. This role requires a seasoned professional who can identify market opportunities, design profitable event concepts, and deliver exceptional experiences that drive revenue and enhance our reputation and public perception. The ideal candidate combines strategic vision with hands‑on execution skills and the ability to build strong relationships with the public, clients, vendors, and internal teams. He should have the ability to foster sponsorships and multi‑agency support initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Business Development
- Develop and implement a comprehensive annual events strategy aligned with club objectives and revenue targets.
- Develop clear metrics and KPI for quarterly review or progress and goals.
- Identify and pursue new event opportunities including corporate functions, private celebrations, tournaments, and community events.
- Conduct market analysis to understand competitive landscape and pricing strategies.
- Create innovative event packages that leverage our unique combination of facilities.
- Build strategic partnerships with corporate clients, event planners, and local organizations.
- Set ambitious yet achievable revenue goals and develop action plans to exceed them.
- Select locations for events and ensure readiness from all aspects with emphasis on HSE and security requirements for the activities, participants and the public.
- Supervise the registration process and ensure smooth workflow and managed processes technical, administratively, and commercially.
Commercial Management
Own the events P&L, including revenue generation and cost control.Develop competitive yet profitable pricing structures for various event types.Prepare detailed proposals, contracts, and cost estimates for prospective clients.Negotiate terms with clients and vendors to maximize profitability while delivering value.Track and analyze event performance metrics and ROI.Forecast event revenue and contribute to overall club financial planning.Identify upselling and cross‑selling opportunities to increase average event value.Client Relations & Sales
Serve as primary point of contact for event clients from inquiry through post‑event follow‑up.Conduct site tours and consultations with prospective clients, showcasing facility capabilities.Build and maintain a robust pipeline of event opportunities.Deliver compelling sales presentations that close business.Ensure exceptional client satisfaction that generates referrals and repeat business.Handle complex client requirements and expectations with professionalism and creativity.Event Execution & Operations
Oversee all aspects of event planning and execution including logistics, catering, audiovisual, and activity coordination.Collaborate with club departmentsfood & beverage, facility operations, activities staff) to ensure seamless delivery.Manage event timelines, vendor coordination, and on‑site supervision.Ensure all events meet safety standards and regulatory requirements.Coordinate with all concerned parties for security of the premises, safety, and health related requirements, including waste management and proper disposal of waste and unnecessary items after the event.Develop contingency plans and handle unexpected challenges with composure.Conduct post‑event evaluations and implement continuous improvement initiatives.Communication & Stakeholder Management
Communicate event plans clearly and effectively to internal teams and external partners.Prepare detailed event briefs and run sheets for operational staff.Present regular updates to club management on pipeline status and performance.Coordinate with marketing team to promote events program.Manage client communications throughout the event lifecycle.Strategic & Commercial Expertise
Minimum 3 years of experience in an event management role with demonstrated strategic impact.Proven track record of developing profitable events programs and achieving revenue targets.Strong business acumen with experience in pricing strategy, contract negotiation, and P&L management.Ability to think strategically while maintaining attention to operational detail.Data‑driven approach to decision‑making and performance analysis.Communication & Interpersonal Skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence at all levels.Skilled presenter who can confidently pitch to corporate decision‑makers.Strong relationship‑building capabilities with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.Ability to articulate complex event concepts clearly and persuasively.Professional demeanour suited to high‑end client interactions.Experience & Knowledge
7 years’ experience with 3 years dedicated in event management.Experience managing diverse event types (corporate, social, sporting, community).Background in hospitality, recreation, or entertainment venues preferred.Proven ability to manage multiple events simultaneously while maintaining quality standards.Qualification & Certification
Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields Hospitality, Sales, Marketing, Communication, Business Operations or related studies from a proven institute.Event Management certification is an advantage.Certification in hospitality, safety and other related fields are preferred.Personal Attributes
