Job Description
About the Company : Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country's crude oil production and natural gas supply.
Purpose of the Job : Assist Pipeline Maintenance Supervisors in managing the execution of pipeline maintenance, inspection, and corrosion monitoring activities in the respective area as per maintenance reference plan for each pipeline in addition to non-routine corrective activities like coating rehabilitation and IPV’s activities and delivering relevant part of pipeline emergency response including isolation, depressurization, and repair for leaking pipelines. This also includes special emphasis on third party and community interfaces and potential threats from third party impacts to pipeline integrity and maintaining the ROW, BVS and pig trap locations in good condition : barriers, gates, windrow, housekeeping.
Education & Experience
- Diploma in Civil or Mechanical or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in Oil / Gas pipeline operations, maintenance, inspection, or pipeline design, construction.
- Basic knowledge in pipeline operations, maintenance, inspection, site corrosion monitoring and cathodic protection management.
- Self‑motivated and required to have strong leadership skills.
- Should be aware of HSE and process safety requirements relevant to pipeline maintenance, inspection, and repair.
- Knowledge of hazardous areas and equipment fit for those areas.
- Fully computer literate, valid driving licence, good communicator (English / Arabic) and organizer.
- Analytical and report‑writing abilities.
- Ability to perform as a team player.
Main Responsibilities
Maintain a high level of safety awareness and standards in all daily duties and tasks and guide subordinate staff and / or contractors on safe working practices.Proactively manage all HSE aspects of maintenance activity execution and compliance with directorate HSE plan.Apply AI‑PSM principles in all activities.Act at all times in accordance with the PDO Statement of Policy on AI‑PSM.Identify and comply with AI‑PSM responsibilities as documented in the AI‑PSM system.Assist Pipeline Maintenance Supervisor in supervising and managing site activities for pipeline maintenance, inspection, and repair.Act as area authority for infrastructure pipelines as per PDO PTW system.Assist Pipeline Maintenance Supervisor in managing Company Site Representative (CSR) role for pipeline maintenance services contracts and inline inspection services contracts.Coordinate with service providers for ROW reinstatement, attending of ROW & protection deficiencies, and supervise corrective activities.Coordinate with service providers for ROW inspection scope and schedule.Assist assets to supervise / monitor third party activities in pipeline ROW.Review and comment on technical proposals for third party activity requests, in line with pipeline integrity measures.Coordinate and manage, under the supervision of the supervisor, the interfaces with major crossing projects (Highway / Wastewater / OHL / UG / etc.).Carry out visual inspection for Block Valve Stations / Pig Traps and report any abnormalities with proposed solutions.ROW surveillance coverage : check / report and take immediate action on signs / markers, Block Valve Stations (BVS), oil leakages, unauthorized activities, wadi areas, road crossings, ROW usage by third parties, authorized third‑party activities, third‑party utility crossings, windrow condition, ROW access road and populated areas.Utilize basic CI tools to improve delivery of pipeline maintenance activities through CI huddle and VM discussion within the area.Other Job Details
