Overview
To lead, coordinate, and oversee the deployment of the Oman ESG Regulatory Framework across the Bank. The role will ensure that all implementation activities—including regulatory reporting, disclosures, and operational changes—are executed in line with the approved roadmap, while engaging with key stakeholders, project workstreams, and the Steering Committee.
Responsibilities
Drive the end-to-end deployment of the Oman ESG regulatory framework in alignment with the approved roadmap.
Serve as the central coordinator across ESG-related project workstreams (e.g., risk, finance, HR, IT, operations).Track project milestones, dependencies, and deliverables to ensure timely completion.Regulatory Compliance & ReportingEnsure alignment with the Central Bank of Oman’s ESG regulatory framework and related disclosure requirements.
Coordinate preparation of periodic ESG regulatory disclosures, Board-level updates, and other reporting obligations and ensure correct and timely submissions.Liaise with Risk, Compliance, and Finance teams to integrate ESG data into existing reporting processes.Stakeholder EngagementWork closely with the ESG Steering Committee, preparing progress reports, dashboards, and issue logs.
Facilitate workshops and working group sessions to support adoption of ESG principles within business units.Act as the point of contact between internal stakeholders and external regulators, auditors, or consultants.Governance & Risk ManagementEstablish and monitor governance mechanisms for ESG implementation.
Identify risks, challenges, and gaps in the deployment process; propose mitigations and solutions.Support embedding of ESG standards into policies, frameworks, and operating models.Change & Capacity BuildingAssist in developing awareness programmes, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing for staff on ESG matters.
Support integration of ESG factors into strategy, risk management, lending, and investment practices.Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Sustainability, or related discipline (Master’s preferred).Professional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) are highly desirable.Minium of 4 years of experience in project management, risk, or compliance roles, ideally within the financial sector.Experience in ESG, sustainability reporting, or regulatory compliance (banking / financial institutions preferred).Strong understanding of Oman’s ESG regulatory landscape and broader international ESG standards (IFRS S1 / S2, TCFD, EU taxonomy, etc.).Skills & Competencies
