Research Assistant

This research focuses on microstructural analysis of steels, involving :

• Phase identification in low-and high-grade steels under different heat treatments and mechanical processes.
• Crystallographic orientation mapping using electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) to build a dataset for deep learning (DL) training.
• Selection and implementation of high-performance DL algorithms for phase recognition.
• Investigation of the correlation between microstructure and HE sensitivity.

Research Assistant (RA) position requirements :

We are seeking a highly qualified Research Assistant (RA) with a Master s or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Metallurgy, or a closely related field. Candidates with backgrounds in Mechanical Engineering (Materials Focus) / Physics (Crystallography) / Computer Science (AI / Deep Learning for Materials Science) may also be considered.
