Job Purpose : Monitors, reviews, and evaluates the performance of multiple Joint Venture (JV) assets operated by partner International Oil Companies (IOCs) under OQEP’s Joint Ventures Directorate. Ensures that all activities related to asset development plans, reservoir management, and business performance are aligned with approved Field Development Plans (FDPs), budgets, and corporate objectives. Supports the assessment of technical reserves, growth opportunities, and new asset proposals, ensuring optimal value creation, compliance with Exploration and Production Sharing Agreements (EPSAs) and Joint Operating Agreements (JOAs), and maximization of OQEP’s investment.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Perform multi‑discipline assessments for joint venture assets, focusing on petroleum engineering evaluations and analysis of asset performance and business review.
- Represent OQEP in various technical and techno‑commercial official meetings with partners and government.
- Review the performance of OQEP JV assets and ensure alignment with agreed field development and reservoir surveillance plans proposed by operators and optimize for maximum economic recovery.
- Review annual work program and budget of operators and provide written summaries of analyses to OQEP management prior to approval by the Joint Operating / Management Committee.
- Prepare alternative development strategies in collaboration with appropriate departments to account for market changes and disruptions encountered or anticipated.
- Obtain OQEP’s concurrence on any deviations from the originally approved WP&B or remedial measures proposed by operators before attending any meetings with partners.
- Review and coordinate the update of technical reserves estimation and reporting for JV assets.
- Ensure that JV asset management is in line with EPSAs, JOAs and that proposals and developments meet OQEP’s economic screening criteria.
- Challenge and manage expenses on upstream exploration and development investments, ensuring that the value of the asset to stakeholders is preserved.
- Provide cost‑effective and performance‑enhancing solutions to aid asset development decision‑making.
- Provide and review production and cost forecasts for the asset.

Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.Language Requirement
Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required).Arabic – Native (desired).Background and Experience
Minimum 8 years of experience in Petroleum Engineering, preferably within upstream oil and gas operations or joint venture asset management.Proven track record in reservoir engineering, field development planning, performance evaluation, and exposure to technical and commercial aspects of EPSAs and JOAs.Competencies and Skills
Strong management and leadership skills to lead all aspects of asset management and collaborate with all stakeholders.Excellent interpersonal skills and multi‑cultural sensitivity.Computer literate with expertise in MS Office.Seniority Level
