Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Barista to join our coffee shop team in Muscat. The Barista will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee and other beverages, maintaining excellent customer service, and supporting the smooth daily operation of the coffee shop.

The ideal candidate should have at least one year of relevant experience or a good basic understanding of coffee preparation and coffee shop operations. Candidates must be willing to learn, develop their skills, and work effectively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages according to the coffee shop’s standards.
  
• Operate coffee machines, grinders, and other café equipment safely and correctly.
  
• Take customer orders accurately and provide friendly, professional service.
  
• Maintain the quality, consistency, and presentation of all beverages.
  
• Handle cash and card payments and operate the point-of-sale system.
  
• Keep the coffee preparation area, counter, equipment, and customer areas clean and organized.
  
• Monitor stock levels and inform the supervisor when supplies need to be replenished.
  
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and health and safety procedures.
  
• Support opening and closing procedures.
  
• Assist other team members during busy periods.
  
• Learn about coffee products, preparation methods, and customer service standards.

Requirements
At least one year of experience as a Barista or in a coffee shop, café, or similar hospitality environment is preferred. Candidates with basic knowledge of coffee preparation and coffee shop operations may also be considered. Basic knowledge of espresso machines, coffee grinders, and beverage preparation. Good communication and customer service skills. Positive attitude and willingness to learn and improve. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays. Good personal hygiene and professional appearance. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Candidates currently residing in Muscat are preferred. Ability to communicate in English; Arabic is an advantage.
