Director - Commercial

About the role

As Director, Commercial you lead the whole commercial engine — network, pricing, sales, distribution, brand and marketing — and build our revenue from launch. Reporting to the Accountable Manager, a core early focus is winning and serving Oil & Gas corporate and charter customers across Oman and the wider Middle East, where much of our early commercial sales will come from.

What you'll do

• Own commercial strategy, budget and senior hiring across planning, pricing, revenue management, sales, distribution, brand and marketing / PR.
• Build and grow the Oil & Gas corporate and charter business — leading negotiation and customer-service delivery to these key clients.
• Develop the network and open routes across Oman and the Middle East from our Oman base.
• Develop and execute government collaborative subsidy and route-support programmes that underpin regional connectivity.
• Set pricing and revenue-management strategy and own commercial performance against KPIs.
• Build a lean, technology-forward distribution and digital sales capability (PSS, GDS, online and ancillaries).
• Lead brand, marketing and PR to establish the airline in-market.

What you'll bring

• Senior commercial leadership experience in aviation, owning network, pricing, sales and distribution.
• Previous experience in the regional airline market and with turbo-prop operations (e.g. ATR / Dash 8), and an understanding of what makes regional commercial work.
• Experience developing and executing government collaborative subsidy / route-support programmes (e.g. PSO / regional connectivity schemes).
• A proven track record negotiating and delivering service to corporate / charter customers — ideally Oil & Gas — and winning high-value contracts.
• Strong knowledge of airline commercial systems (PSS / GDS, revenue management, distribution) and the appetite to build with new-age technologies.
• Start-up experience building a commercial function under pressure and to tight timelines.
• A proven record of selling into GCC countries, with the network to open doors from an Oman base.
• Familiarity with new-age payment systems — digital wallets, real-time and alternative payment methods, and modern payment gateways — to widen conversion and reach.
• Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary commercial teams.
