We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of mechanical systems for Lidar and photonics-based products. This role involves creating enclosures, optical alignments, thermal solutions, and precision fixtures for prototypes, validation setups, and production systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including optics, electronics, and test to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design mechanical components (housings, mounts, brackets, heat sinks) optimized for photonics and optical alignment.
- Develop detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for manufacturing using SolidWorks, Creo, or similar tools.
- Support rapid prototyping and hardware integration, including 3D printing and CNC fabrication.
- Perform tolerance analysis, thermal simulations, and mechanical stress analysis specific to optical systems.
- Work with suppliers to ensure DFM and high-precision assembly for optoelectronic modules.
- Collaborate with optics, electrical, and packaging teams to meet structural and thermal constraints.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.4+ years of experience in mechanical design for optical, photonics, or high-precision electronic systems.Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD); knowledge of thermal and structural simulation tools is a plus.Experience with Lidar systems, optical alignment, or photonic packaging is preferred.Familiarity with electronics integration, PCB constraints, and EMI / EMC considerations.Strong problem-solving, documentation, and collaboration skills.#J-18808-Ljbffr
