Mandarin Oriental Muscat is looking for a Sales Manager - Groups & Events to join our Sales and Marketing team.

Mandarin Oriental Muscat is situated in a prime beachfront location, offering 150 guestrooms and suites, five restaurants and bars, a Spa, and an outdoor swimming pool. The hotel features a ballroom with views of the Arabian Sea and a variety of banquet and meeting spaces.
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Group & Events Sales Manager to lead proactive sales efforts across Oman and UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and managing key Local Corporate and International Accounts, handling Group and Event Sales, and managing all opportunities through platforms such as CVENT, Lanyon, and RFP management.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive proactive sales for group bookings and events
- Develop and manage a portfolio of local and regional corporate accounts
- Generate new business opportunities and maintain existing relationships through regular sales calls, meetings, and presentations
- Manage group inquiries from quotation to contract execution, ensuring smooth transition to the operations team
- Help to coordinate MICE business using tools such as CVENT, Lanyon, and RFP platforms
- Establish strong relationships with international embassies, consulates, and government institutions for group and event-related opportunities
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure client satisfaction and successful event execution
- Track and report on sales performance metrics and forecasts
Requirements
Proven experience in group sales and corporate account management within the UAE hospitality or events sectorStrong knowledge of corporate & groups and events marketHands-on experience with MICE business and RFP platforms such as CVENT and LanyonExcellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skillsAbility to work independently and proactively generate leads and close dealsFluency in English is required; additional languages are a plusOur commitment to you
